AN V in the reverse refers to the era dating from Phillip I's victorius Danubian campaign of 246 AD. SGI 4360 Volusian was the son of Trebonianus Gallus, and was elevated to the rank of Augustus in 251 AD after the death of Hostillian. This coin is a rough, but legible example of a somewhat scarce emperor. Very little detail is left, and the coin is rough, but all the central devices and legends are clear.
