Struck in high relief. Minor contact marks. Toned. Extremely fine The normal obverse legend at this mint is A VITELLIVS IMP GERMAN. The longer legend on the present specimen is quite rare, perhaps occurring on only two other obverse dies. These coins are apparently the final small issue of the mint, produced after Vitellius arrived in Rome ca. 18 July AD 69 and accepted the titles Augustus and Pontifex Maximus.
