            Roman Provincial SPAIN, Turiaso. TIBERIUS  14-37 AD. Æ 26mm (11.02 
            g). C. Caecilius Ser. and M Valerius Quad., duovirs. Laureate head 
            of Tiberius right / Bull standing right; c/m: coiled serpent. For 
            coin: RPC I 417; SNG Copenhagen 605; for c/m: unrecorded. VF, rough 
            green patina. 

            Ex CNG with ticket. Per CNG description: 
            "Nothing resembling this countermark is recorded among the known 
            Spanish countermarks. Unlike the more pedestrian known types, mostly 
            monograms and eagle heads, this mark has a distinctive Celtic 
            flavor, with the coiled serpent biting its own tail. The Ibero-Celts 
            arrived in Hispania in the 3rd century BC, and formed the basis of 
            most of the tribes that existed in the peninsula when the Romans 
            arrived. This countermark hints that Celtic artistic influence was 
            still felt in Spain in the 1st century AD. "
