                                Lugdunum (Lyon) mint. Struck 15-16 AD. Laureate 
                                head right / Tiberius, holding eagle-tipped 
                                sceptre, in quadriga right. RIC I 4; BMCRE 7; 
                                RSC 48. Toned, nice VF. Rare.
                                Tiberius' reuse of this late Augustan type (RIC 
                                I 222; RSC 300), like that of the design for the 
                                "Tribute Penny" (RIC I 220; RSC 223) reflects an 
                                attempt to create a connection between his reign 
                                and that of his predecessor.
