Severus Alexander from Laodicea ad Libanum in Coele-Syria. MĂȘn standing left, holding horse by the bridle. Standard type for this city, but unknown for Severus Alexander. See Head p. 785. The portrait is young and beardless and the obverse inscription may indicate Severus Alexander. What we probably have is a previously unknown issue of Severus Alexander for Laodicea ad Libanum. Cf. SNG Cop. 445; Lindgren I 2177; Lindgren III 1288. 7.72 grams, 23mm. Contributed by John Noory, August, 2003.
