and cuirassed bust right.
VICTORIA AV[G] Two Victories standing, attaching a shield 
to a trophy of captured arms, under which sit two
captives. RIC 167. 

F, dark green patina, old scrape across obverse.

One of the last of the fairly big sestertii. During this 
reign, the double sestertii was consistently reduced, 
eventually to below the size of the old dupondius. The 
sestertius was less frequently issued. Sestertii after 
this reign tend to resemble the ases of the previous centuries.
