                              ROMAN EMPIRE

                                PLAUTILLA

            Married Caracalla in AD 202, was banished in 205
           and murdered on the order of her husband in AD 212.

                            Silver Denarius

        Obverse: PLAVTILLA AVGVSTA, Her draped bust to the right,
               her hair arranged in a bun behind the neck.
               Reverse:VENVS VICTRIX, Venus standing left
  holding apple and palm-branch, leaning on shield. Cupid at her feet.

        Reference: Sear 2003 (80 Pounds in VF). Grade: Very Fine.
 Comments: Scarce. Good portrait, and legible reverse with good details.
      Grey toning. Large planchet. Well centered. Good eye appeal.
