Description The daughter of the enormously rich and powerful praetorian prefect Plautianus, Fulvia Plautilla was married to Caracalla in AD 202 bringing with her a huge dowry. She was extremely haughty and was soon hated by her cruel husband. It was at his instigation, on the fall of her father in AD 205, that Septimius banished her to Lipari. She languished there miserably till after the death of Septimius, when she was assassinated on the orders of her husband. This lustrous coin is much better than the photo. Ex-CNG.
