                  PHILIP I. SILVER ANTONINIANUS. SALUS & SNAKE.

     Silver antoninianus (double denarius) of Philip I (AD 244-249), 23 mm
     diameter, 4.19 g, gray toning, better than VF in point of wear, but
     struck from a somewhat worn reverse die (common for the antoniniani).
     According to RIC (p. 56) this coin is from Issue I, struck in AD 244.
     RIC 46(b); RSC 209; Sear 2576.

     Obv. IMP. M. IVL. PHILLIPPVS AVG., radiate, draped and cuirassed bust
     of Philip I.

     Rev. SALVS AVG., Salus standing right, feeding snake held in arms.
