                        (2.75 gm).

                        ROMAN EMPIRE. Divus Pertinax (died AD 193). Silver 
                        denarius (2.75 gm). Rome, struck by Septimius Severus. 
                        DIVVS PERT PIVS PATER, bare head right / CONSECRATIO, 
                        eagle standing right, head left, on globe. BMCRE 36, pl. 
                        6, 6 (same obverse die). Cohen 6 (120 Fr.). RIC 24A 
                        (R3). Very rare: only two specimens in the Reka Devnia 
                        hoard (compared to 52 specimens of Pertinax alive). 
                        Excellent portrait. Reverse flatly struck, otherwise 
                        about extremely fine
