     Otho. 69 AD. AR Denarius (3.15 gm). Bare head right / Pax
     standing left, holding branch and caduceus. RIC I 4 or --; RSC 3
     or 4a. Fine. 710073

     Although the name Otho is quite clear, the preceeding part of the
     legend is off the flan and cannot be determined by this
     cataloguer. Thus, it is impossible to know for certain whether
     this coin reads IMP OTHO or IMP M OTHO except by comparing it
     with another specimen struck from the same obverse die and which
     shows the missing portion of the legend. Perhaps our Otho
     specialist would like to clarify the situation?

     information:

     This coin is indeed RSC 4a. It is not listed in RIC, BMCRE, or
     BN, but several examples have appeared on the market since 1996.
     It is about 4 times as rare as RIC I 4.
