AE Semis (?) of NERO Roma Seated Reverse VF/F AE Semis (?) of Nero, 54-68 A.D. Roma Seated Reverse, Grades VF/F Similar to R.I.C. 221 Bronze semis (or possibly a quadrans?) of Nero, sixth of the "Twelve Caesars". Obverse: Laureate head right. NERO.CAES.AVG.IMP. Reverse: Roma seated left. TR.POT.(?); S.C. in exergue. Grades VF/F for details, with a very sharp portrait of this notorious Roman emperor. Obverse inscription is clear and legible, although there are some surface deposits. Reverse is somewhat rough and darkly toned, as you can see in the image. Diameter: c. 18 mm, about the size of a U.S. dime, but thicker. Reference: Similar to RIC 221.
