M TR P IMP PP. Laureate hd. r. Rv. CONG II DAT POP S C. Nero, bare-headed
and togate, seated l. on curule chair on low platform; a prefect stands
behind him; on ground an attendant standing l. distributes tesserae to a
citizen who holds out folds of his toga to receive them; Minerva stands
before temple in background. RIC 161. BMC 139. Banti and Simmonetti,
812(this coin). This coin is possibly the finest known example of the type
and quite rare in this reverse variety.
