     Nero, AR denarius, (3.62g) struck 56-57 AD, Rome Mint, NERO
     CAESAR AVG IMP Bare head right / PONTIF MAX TR P COS III P P
     around oak wreath containing EX S C. RIC12, BMC14, RSC207. Toned
     VF, scratch on reverse. A rare issue from early in his reign,
     before he gained the chubby features he is known for. This coin
     type would have been melted in the post-Neronian reform period,
     as it contained more silver than these coins did.
