of Maximinus Thrax, sun countermark in r. field,
another on emperor's cheek. Rx: Wolf and twins
below fig tree, star in r. field, The obverse
legend names Maximus Caesar, but as noted in BMC
the portrait is clearly that of his father,
presumably by engraver's error. Four further
specimens from the same obverse die as ours but
a different reverse die are published by
