Magnentius. (350-353 AD). Bronze double centenionalis, full weight 
(10.32 gm). Trier, c. January-August 353 AD. D N MAGNEN – TIVS P F 
AVG, bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust right, seen from front / 
SALVS DD NN AVG ET CAES, Christogram between A and w, TRS in 
exergue. RIC 318, officina S=2. Bastien 86 (17 specimens). Broad, 
heavy example of Magnentius’ unreduced double centenionalis at 
Trier, with a delightful double-chinned portrait. On reverse, by 
engraver’s error, the second S in SALVS is lying on its side. Good 
very fine.
