                        ROMAN EMPIRE: Macrinus (AD 217-218). AE sestertius 
                        (23.38 gm), early/mid May-June/July AD 217. Laureate, 
                        cuirassed bust of Macrinus right, with cropped beard / 
                        IOVI CONSERVATORI S-C, Jupiter standing left, holding 
                        thunderbolt and scepter, small figure of Macrinus to 
                        left under thunderbolt. BMCRE 102, pl. 81, 10. RIC 189. 
                        C. 39. RCTV 7379. Rare. Brown patina. Heavily smoothed 
                        and tooled. Very fine
