             Macrinus, 217-218 CE, silver denarius, 17-18 mm. Obverse :
             IMP. C.M. OPEL. SEV. MACRINUS AUG. - laureate, draped and
             cuirassed bust right. Reverse : AEQUITAS AUG. - Equity stg.
             left holding scales and cornucopia. Grade aEF. Obverse shows
             strong portrait in high relief, this type with the long
             'philosophers' beard. Highest points showing slight traces
             of wear - excellent hair and beard detail. Overall choice
             surfaces and toning, well centered. Ref. RSC 2a ; SR 2049
