                                Description

     Coin was minted for Thrace, Augusta Traiana, during the reign of
     Lucius Verus, who served as co-emperor with Marcus Aurelius from
     161-169 AD. He campaigned in the East with considerable success,
     at least in name, although some authorities consider him to have
     had very little to do with the Roman successes. He was a weak
     man, addicted to pleasure, and his death came as a relief to
     Aurelius. The obverse of this type depicts the bare headed bust
     of Lucius Verus facing right, with Greek legends for
     AV.KAI.L.AVRELIOS.OVEROS. The reverse features a coiled snake,
     with Greek legends for AVGOVSTHS.TRAIANHC. Coin is struck a
     little off center, but otherwise grades a choice VF, with bold
     devices and legends where struck up, and attractive glossy dark
     patina with dusty green highlights. A very choice example of this
     scarcer provincial type! All coins guaranteed genuine without
     limitations. Buyer pays postage/insurance, coin shipped on
