Julius Nepos, 1st reign AD 474-475, 2nd reign AD 476-480.
Julius Nepos, sent to govern Italy by Leo I, deposed Glycerius and proclaimed himself Western emperor in June 474. In 475 Orestes rebelled against him and forced him to flee to Salonae, Dalmatia, where he lived for five years, recognized as Eastern emperor, whilst Orestes had elevated his son Romulus to Western emperor.
