                                Description

     This piece was minted in the name of Julia Domna, who was the
     wife of Septimius Severus and mother to the future emperors
     Caracalla and Geta. She is said to have been a woman of brilliant
     intellect, and Severus frequently sought her advice on matters of
     importance, and was often guided by her counsels. The obverse of
     this type depicts the draped bust of Julia Domna facing right,
     with legends IVLIA.AVGVSTA. The reverse type features Pietas,
     veiled, standing half-left, dropping incense into a lighted altar
     and holding box. The legends read PIETAS.AVGG. Coin is struck on
     an oblongish flan, but otherwise grades VF, with clear to bold
     devices and legends all around. A very nice example of the type,
     catalouged as RSC-150. All coins guaranteed genuine without
     limitations. Buyer pays postage/insurance, coin shipped on
