     Roman Empire: JULIA DOMNA Silver Denarius VF+

     Struck under Septimius Severus (A.D.193-211)

     She was the wife of Septimius Severus and mother of Caracalla and
     Geta. In A.D. 217 after the murder of her son Caracalla she
     committed suicide by a volontary abstinence from food.

     Obverse:
     Nice portrait of JULIA DOMNA to right
     Legend: JULIA.AUGUSTA.
     Reverse:
     Pietas standing left sacrificing over altar
     Legend: PIETAS.AUGG.

     good VF condition
