                                Description

                      Silver Denarius of Julia Domna

     This offering is a sliver (AR) denarius issued by Julia Domna.
     She was the wife of emperor Septimius Severus, A.D. 193 to 211
     and the mother of emperor Caracalla. This coin is described in
     Roman Coins and their Values as S#1844. It weighs 3.22 grams and
     is 20mm in diameter. I believe this coin would be rated as VF. It
     is silver in color with no corrosion. It has a slight fan crack
     which occurred during manufacture. It is a pleasing coin with
     relatively high relief for its era.

     Payment must be received within 10 days of the end of the
     auction. Buyer pays actual shipping and insurance costs. Payment
