                                Description

     This is a very nice sestertius of Hadrian minted between 134-138
     A.D. This is a rare a very desirable type. The obverse is
     Hadrian's draped and laureate bust right with legends. The
     reverse is Hadrian left, togate, standing right, raising right
     hand and holding roll on in left hand, facing him on right,
     standing left, a draped figure, sacrificing out of patera in
     right hand over an altar in the center. Africa wears
     elephant-trunk head-dress nad hold cornears and drapery caught up
     in left hand. Victim next to altar. Legends read: ADVENTVI AVG
     AFRICAE S.C. This coin is listed as RIC 872 f and has a rarity
     rating of (R)are. This is a rare opportunity to own this rarely
     seen sestertius with a great historical reference. Coin
