                       Hadrian. Orichalcum As. Rev. Lyre.

     An Orichalcum as (24 mm in diameter) of Hadrian (AD 117-138) in F-VF
     condition, black patina with red earth deposits. RIC 684; BMCRE 1354;
     Sear 1145.

     Obv. HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS. Laureate bust of Hadrian right.

     Rev. COS III. Lyre; in field, SC.

     This is one of four types of orichalcum as struck by Hadrian, all
     apparently struck in Rome but for circulation primarily in the East.
