                                Description

     This piece was minted in 137 AD, during the reign of Hadrian, who
     ruled from 117-138 AD. Hadrian is famed as the emperor who built
     Hadrian's Wall, the massive fortification erected across the
     northernmost British frontier of the empire to defend against
     marauding Scots and Picts. He is also known for his extensive
     travels throughout the empire. The obverse of this type depicts
     the laureate head of Hadrian facing right, with legends
     HADRIANVS.AVG.COS.III.P.P. The reverse features Tellus standing
     left, holding plough handle and rake, with two corn ears at
     right. The legends read TELLVS.STABIL. Coin was minted to mark
     the twentieth anniversary of the reign of Hadrian, with an image
     symbolising the continuity and stability of the golden age. This
     piece grades Good VF, with bold devices, clear legends, and an
     attractive portrait of Hadrian. A very pleasing example of this
     scarcer anniversary type, catalouged as RIC-276. All coins
     guaranteed genuine without limitations. Buyer pays
