                                Description

     This piece was minted during the reign of Hadrian, who ruled from
     117-138 AD. Hadrian is famed as the emperor who built Hadrian's
     Wall, the massive fortification erected across the northernmost
     British frontier of the empire to defend against marauding Scots
     and Picts. He is also known for his extensive travels throughout
     the empire. The obverse of this type depicts the laureate bust of
     Hadrian facing right, slight drapery on far shoulder, with
     legends IMP.CAESAR.TRAIAN.HADRIANVS.AVG. The reverse features
     Roma seated left on cuirass, holding Victory and spear, with
     legends P.M.TR.P.COS.III. Coin grades a nice VF, with clear to
     bold devices and legends all around, and a very attractive
     portrait of Hadrian. A pleasing example of the type, catalouged
     as RIC-77. All coins guaranteed genuine without limitations.
     Buyer pays postage/insurance, coin shipped on clearance of funds.
