                                Description

             Hadrian First Year of Reign denarius

             Hadrian, AD 117-138. A silver denarius struck in AD 117 and
             attributed as RIC 11a.

             Obv: Laureate head right with drapery on left shoulder.
             Legend is IMP CAES TRAIAN HADRIANO AVG DIVI TRA.

             Rev: Justitia seated left, holding patera and sceptre.
             Legend is PARTH F DIVI NER NEP PM TRP COS with IVSTITIA in
             exergue.

             Most Hadrian coins are COS III legends, these first year
             issues are popular collector issues and generally come worn,
             although this F+ example is nicer than many. I don't know
   [Image]   about you, but this youthful classic pose of Hadrian is one
             of my favorites.
