Description Gratian A.D. 337-361, AE 3 (18mm), F++ Obverse: Diademed, draped bust of the emperor facing right, D.N.GRATIANVS P.F.AVG in legend. Reverse: Gratian holding labrum with a “Chi-Rho” in it, while dragging a captive right by the hair. Right field contains a * and a K with GLORIA ROMANORVM in the legend. TES in the exergue (minted in Thessalonica) Nicely centered with a dark brown patina. This coin is quite nice, it has full legends with some lightened highlights. This coin is interesting because it is apparent that a master celator did the artwork and a novice apprentice did the lettering…. The lettering is poorly spaced and sized.. Listed as Sear (4th.Edition) #4143, valued at 25 pounds. Buyer pays $0.85 postage, 2 week return period, checks (U.S. Funds) must clear. DP1.jpg. This is really a tremendous tiny (less than dime sized) coin with nice relief and surfaces. The scan does not manage to convey that. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- [Image] Bidding Bidding is closed for this item. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- [eBay logo] Home Listings Buyers Sellers Search Help News/Chat Site Map Thank you for using eBay!
