Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / Draped female figure (Moesia?) standing facing, head left, holding standard in each hand, bull left, lion right; the left standard inscribed VII, the right inscribed IIII. Boric-Breskovic 399; SNG Budapest 225-226; Pick 85. Near EF, choice dark olive green patina. Rare legionary issue. ($1500) Both the IIII’th and VII’th legion were stationed in Moesia. The usual type shows Moesia standing with just the bull (the symbol for the VII’th legion) and the lion (the symbol for the IIII’th legion).
