  Cilicia, Soloi Pompeiopolis. Gordian III. 238-244 AD. Æ 32mm (16.38 gm). Radiate,
  draped and cuirassed bust right / Draped bust of the poet Aratos right. SNG Levante
  -; SNG Paris 1250 (same reverse die); SNG von Aulock -; Waddington 4525. Fine, brown
  and green patina, mild porosity. Bold reverse portrait. Estimate $75.

  The reverse portrait is unidentified, but is probably Aratos, a poet from Soloi
  (Pompeiopolis) of the 3rd century BC. His most famous works are verse renditions of
  the treatises of the astronomer Eudoxos. Although technically inaccurate, his poems
  were highly regarded by the Greeks and Romans.
