Gordian III AE 26 Hadrianopolis Apollo Lyre US $34.00 Jun-03-02Gordian III, 238-244, AE 26 of Hadrianopolis in Thrace, VF+. Obv. AVT M ANT GORDIANOC AV, Laureate and cuirassed bust right. Rev. ADPIANOPOLETWN, Apollo standing left, holding branch, leaning upon lyre. The coin is greenish-gray, a little off center on both sides, with some of the letters partially off the flan, but the legends are otherwise complete. The reverse image is very nice, with only a little weakness on the head. There is quite a bit of porosity on the obverse, but the portrait is still quite nice.
