Gordian III, 238-244 AD

Silver Antoninianus.  Obverse:  IMP GORDIANVS PIVS
FEL AVG, Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gordian
right.  Reverse:  AETERNITATI AVG, Sol, radiate, standing
left holding globe and raising hand.  The reverse legend
translates to "Eternal Augustus".
