Rare with MILITVM not MILIT in the reverse legend; only one specimen in Dorchester hoard, none in Berk photofile or CoinArchives. (b) Silver denarius, 3.19 gm, Rome, 240 AD, obverse as (a) but head laureate not radiate / IOVIS STATOR, Jupiter standing and looking left, holding scepter and thunderbolt. On RIC 112 and Cohen 113, Jupiter stands left but looks right; this variant with Jupiter also looking left is apparently unpublished. Not mentioned in the Eauze hoard report; not represented in Berk photofile or CoinArchives. TWO COINS IN LOT. Very fine.
