Rare Emperors Sacrificing AE As of GETA $24.00 Nov-15-01 Geta Caesar, who served under his father Septimius Severus from 198-209 AD. The obverse of this type depicts the bare-headed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Geta as a young man facing right, with legends GETA.CAES.PONTIF.COS. The reverse type features Caracalla and Geta, veiled, standing right and left, vis-a-vis, sacrificing over an altar in front of a distyle temple, with Concordia standing in the background, veiled. The legends for the type would read SAECVLARIA.SACRA.SC. Coin grades VG, with major devices and partial legends visible. A very presentable yet affordable example of this rare type, catalogued as RIC-132, and listed as Rarity-2.
