AR Denarius of GETA Caesar $29.00 08/10/99, This piece was minted in the name of Geta Caesar, who served under his father, Septimius Severus, from 198-209 AD. The obverse of this piece depicts the boy's draped bust of Geta facing right, with legends P.SEPT.GETA.CAES.PONT. The reverse features Geta in military dress standing half-left, holding branch and reversed spear, with legends PRINC.IVVENT. Coin shows a flan crack at K-5 of the reverse, but otherwise grades a nice VF, with bold devices and clear to bold legends all around. A very nice example of the type, catalouged as RSC-159.
