Obv: SER.GALBA.IMP.CAESAR.AVG.TR.P. His laureate bust right. Rev: CONCORD.AVG.S.C. Concordia holding an olive branch seated left on low-backed chair. 25.37 grams. RIC 380, not listed in Sear. Attractive VF with excellent portrait of Galba and good natural orichalchum patina. (Violet highlights are artifacts of the scan.) Buyer has 7-day return privilege less costs. A desirable large bronze of this emperor whose reign was only 9 months long (April 68- January 69). The realistic portrait bust is superbly executed in the best style of the Roman mint which had been brought to a high point of artistic excellence during the reign of Nero. The choice of reverse type “Concord” reflects Galba’s attempt to conciliate and rally public opinion in his favor during the upheavals of the Civil War. Checks or money orders only. $4.50 insured shipping in the USA, $9.00 registered mail to foreign addresses. Please take a look at my other fine ancient coins on ebay this week. Thanks for your bids!
