Faustina II AR Denarius of an Aureus type. Obv: FAVSTINAE AVG PII AVG FIL, draped bust left Rev: IVNO, Juno seated left (with child on knee), holding sceptre, before her a small figure standing right holding corn ears, SC in exergue. The photograph does not show well that this coin is made of silver. The aureus version, RIC III 504 has bust right. The coin is made of good silver, is not a fourrée and does not appear to be a fake. It is an odd coin, as "SC" was normally only used on AE (bronze, copper etc) coins. Contributed by Dane for George Clegg (biggyg2), December, 2005.
