Faustina Senior, died 141, wife of Antoninus Pius (138-161), AR
 Denarius (16x18mm), aVF/F+. RSC 47a (not listed in RIC). Obv.
 DIVA AVG FAVSTINA, draped bust right. Rev. AETERNITAS, Aeternitas
 or Ceres standing, holding torch and scepter. The coin is of
 bright, untoned metal, with a few small, closed flan cracks. The
 portrait is nice and the legare full on both sides, although
 some letters are weak and/or partially off the flan. After
 Faustina's death Antoninus Pius issued an extensive commemorative
 coinage and had his wife consecrated (thus the title DIVA or
 "goddess" on the obverse).
