            Antoninus upon his accession. Called Elagabalus after his Sun-God). 
            Emperor AD 218-222 
            Silver Denarius (2.14 grams, 18.16 mm) 
            Obverse: IMP.ANTONINVS PIVS AVG, His laureate head wearing small 
            horn, and draped bust to right 
            Reverse: SACRED DEI SOLI ELAGAB, Elagabalus standing right holding 
            club and sacrificing over lit altar. Star in right field 
            Reference: Van Meter 56                                              
                                                                                 
                   Grade: Extremely Fine/Very Fine 
            Great portrait. Clear reverse. Strong strike. Light grey toning. 
            Scarcer type.                                                      
            The legend refers to Elagabalus the God, not Elagabalus the 
            priest-emperor.
