Domitian Denarius Domitian, 90-91 (reigned 81-96), AR Denarius (17x18mm), aVF/F+. RSC 264. Obv. IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM P M TR P X, laureate bust right. Rev. 264, Minerva standing left, holding thunderbolt and spear, shield at her feet. The coin is of bright metal, with full legends, although a few letters are crowded by the flan. The portrait and reverse image show fairly good detail. Domitian was the last of the Flavian dynasty. He was never popular with the Senate, and he was assassinated after a reign of terror involving the suppression of real and imagined plots against him.
