Obv: Diademed $750 and cuirassed bust r. Rev: Diadumenian standing l. holding standard; two standards to r. RIC 211. Sestertii of Diadumenian are quite rare with affordable examples often having flan cracks and/or porous surfaces. This one is somewhat darker than the scan with lovely old brown toning set off by brassy highlights. There is, however, some light tooling and smoothing of the fields as is typical with many coins originating in 19th century collections. This is also an extremely heavy 3rd century sesterius which rivals Julio-Claudian issues in size. aVF.
