Constantius II, Constantinople. Obv: DN CONSTAN-TIVS PF AVG, pearl diademed, draped, cuirassed bust right Rev: FEL TEMP-REPARATIO, soldier spearing fallen horseman who is bare-headed, bearded, reaching backwards Dot in centre Mintmark CONSI RIC VIII Constantinople 135 var (fieldmark), Rare Submitted by David Ruckser, October 2009 Notes Although the CONSI with dot in centre is known, the thing to note on this coin is the reverse break of TEMP-REPARATIO which, on Fel Temps of Constantinople was only used on those listed under RIC 135 and later. Many of these also have letters in the left field, e.g. the dot-M-dot types (Fel Temps RIC 137 to 148). This coin, as well as a similar one in my own collection (but CONS delta), with the same reverse break appears to be part of a series which is not listed in RIC and which should be placed between RIC 135 (dot at the end of the mintmark but no fieldmark) and 137 (start of the dot M dot series). dk _constantinople_RIC_viii_135v.txt
