IMP CONSTANT-INVS PF AVG, cuirassed bust three-quarters facing, wearing high-crested helmet, holding horse by the bridle with right hand, reversed spear on left arm. SALVS REIPVBLICAE, emperor in military dress, standing left on platform, trophy across left shoulder, crowned by Victory with palm branch; nine soldiers standing around, four in the foreground holding horses, others with shields, the two in the background at the sides of the platform holding standards. RIC VII Ticinum 36; Vienna RÖ 32.344 (this coin, ex Cousinéry). Extremely rare, only three known. This coin was found in Thessalonika by Esprit Cousinéry who, during his lifetime and his travels throughout Greece, collected (and sold) over 24,000 coins, most of his collections being sold to the Coin Cabinets of Munich, Paris and Vienna, the last coins being sold at public auction on 31.7.1833.
