                                Description

     Flavius Julius Constans was the youngest son of Constantine I
     (the great) and Fausta. He was born in A.D. 320, and received the
     title Caesar in A.D. 333, thirteen years old. On the divison of
     the empire upon the death of his father he received Italy, Africa
     and the Balkans. In 340 his brother Constantine II invaded his
     terrotories, but was defeated and killed, leaving Constans ruler
     of the western part of the Empire. Constans was killed by the
     rebellion Magnentius in A.D. 350.
