M COMMODVS ANTONI-NVS AVG PIVS BRIT, laureate, cuirassed bust right / [P M T]R P X IMP VII COS IIII P P, Genius Saeculi standing right, holding scepter and large zodiac through which the Four Seasons proceed, first Spring holding a basket, second Summer holding a sickle, third Autumn holding a bunch of grapes, and finally Winter, hooded and carrying a reed over her shoulder; on right, a putto with cornucopia on shoulder walks left toward Genius Saeculi and the Seasons. Gnecchi 75, pl. 83, 3 (same dies). Cohen 474 (500 Fr.). A magnificent and intriguing medallion. Green patina with some red.
