M COMMODVS ANTONINVS - PIVS FELIX AVG BRIT, laureate and cuirassed half-length bust right, seen from front, on breast of cuirass aegis in form of two wings of goatskin centered on Medusa head, right shoulder of cuirass ornamented with figure of a helmeted divinity standing right and holding vertical scepter, clasp and long fold of cloak on left shoulder / PACI AETER P M TR P XIIII IMP VIII around, COS V P P in exergue, Pax seated left on high-backed throne, left forearm on arm rest, holding branch and transverse scepter. Gnecchi 56, pl. 82. 3 (same dies). Bust variety of Cohen 393 (250 Fr.). Obverse struck in high relief. Glossy dark patina. Good very fine. The same obverse die also was paired with another type of the same issue: Mars standing left between shields and a cuirass, Gnecchi 45, pl. 81.4.
