Claudius II, AV aureus, Milan mint. 268 AD. IMP CLAVDIVS PF AVG, laureate, cuirassed bust left, holding club over right shoulder. FELIC TENPO, Felicitas standing left, holding caduceus and sceptre. Officina letter T below. RIC V-1, 145 Milan var (unlisted as aureus.), unpublished. With kind permission of Numismatica Ars Classica, 2004. Note: Many people think that TENPO is an engraver's error. However, in his article about the coinage and mints of Claudius II, Märkl gave a convincing argument that the spelling was deliberate and was one way of distinguishing the Milan version of this reverse type. However, this reverse is unlisted as an aureus.
