Claudius, AE20 of Cassandreia, Macedonia. Obv: TI CLA CAESAR AVG GERM P M TR PP, laureate head left. Rev: COL IVL AVG CASSANDRE, head of Zeus-Ammon left. AMNG III, p. 53, 6 (same reverse die); RPC I 1515 var. (Zeus- Ammon right). From the J.S. Wagner Collection. RPC attributes the coin cited in AMNG to Nero, based on the left-facing Zeus-Ammon head (only the reverse of the AMNG is illustrated). This coin suggests the AMNG listing is correct. RPC S-1515A has Claudius head right / Zeus-Ammon head left, so all four possible combinations are known. CNG Electronic Auction 168 (11.07.2007), lot 95, sold for $88.
