R8 Claudius, AD 41-54, AE as (11.92g), Rome, 41-43. Obv: Bare head l. $695
   Rev: SC, Minerva advancing r. brandishing spear and shield. RIC
   100, BMCRE 206. EF. This is a common type for Claudius which is
   rendered rare by virtue of its preservation and remarkable green
   patina. Hair and facial detail is all extant with only a pinpoint
   beak in the patina below the emperor’s ear. A true showpiece.
